Our Team Can Help You Get a Good Night’s Sleep

From making you feel irritable while you go about your day to more serious health concerns, not getting enough sleep has a range of consequences. At Statesboro ENT, our board-certified sleep specialists are here to determine why you’re experiencing difficulties and ensure you get proper rest.

What Disorders Do Sleep Doctors Treat?

Sleep specialists help patients manage chronic insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome, among other conditions.

When Should I See a Sleep Specialist?

Your primary care provider may refer you to a sleep specialist if:

  • You snore regularly, which is a sign of obstructive sleep apnea.
  • You struggle to fall asleep or have difficulty staying asleep.
  • You’re unable to perform your daily activities because of fatigue.
  • You have difficulty falling asleep due to aches and pains in your legs, a symptom of restless leg syndrome.

What Are the Next Steps?

If you think you’re experiencing a sleep disorder or have a referral from your primary care provider, here’s what to expect moving forward.

1. Setup an Appointment

Contact us to schedule an appointment with a sleep specialist. Our front office staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Visit our location page for direct contact information.

2. Prepare for Your Visit

Write down any questions you may have for your sleep specialist and list your symptoms, when they occurred and any treatments you have tried, even if those symptoms do not seem related to the condition you are being seen for.

3. Meet with Your Provider

Your doctor may ask about stress, medications, caffeine intake or any changes or disruptions to your lifestyle. They may recommend a sleep study, which can be done in a lab or at home. Your heart, brain function and breathing will be monitored during this process, which will allow your specialist to create the most appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.
